Terms of Service

These terms are a plain-language summary of how the service works. They are provided in good faith and are not legal advice.

1. The service

textscription is an automated speech-to-text service. You upload an audio or video recording and we return a transcript that is automatically cleaned up and formatted. Transcripts are machine-generated and may contain errors. We make no guarantee as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose, and you should review output before relying on it.

2. Your account

You sign in with an email address or a Google account. You are responsible for keeping access to that email or account secure, and for all activity under your account.

3. Acceptable use

You must own the audio you upload, or have all rights and permissions necessary to have it transcribed.
You must not upload unlawful content, or content you are not permitted to process.
You must not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service.

4. Billing

The service is pay-as-you-go using prepaid credits, priced per hour of audio processed. Credits are purchased in advance. You may optionally enable auto-recharge, which authorises us to charge your saved card off-session when your balance runs low, at the threshold and amount you configure. Card details are handled by our payment processor (Stripe) and are never stored by us.

Credits are non-refundable except where a refund is required by applicable law. If a charge is declined, transcription may be paused until payment succeeds; jobs already in progress are unaffected.

5. Audio retention

Uploaded audio is automatically deleted approximately 14 days after processing. Generated transcripts are retained until you delete them or delete your account.

6. No warranty; limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from errors in machine-generated transcripts. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

7. Termination and deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the billing page, which permanently erases your transcripts and any stored audio. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

8. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
